Our annual print edition is our way of marking the year, documenting what and how our readers and followers have lived and experienced, and paying homage to the thoughts and feelings that have set the year apart.
This year we have witnessed a global pandemic, police violence and brutality, new and repeated waves of activism and unrest, and the resilience, hope, and unending creativity of our community. Everything this year has entered around them. The community, and the people that strengthen, support, and celebrate it.
That’s why this year we want to salute the people who have helped to foster, support, and build communities over five digital covers which reflect gal-dem’s mission of seeking out unheard voices and fresh perspectives. One of our cover stars is rollerskating queen, Oumi Janta.
